Meet the amazing Miss Maranda, our Ballet/Contemporary Director. She instructs Ballet, Pointe, Contemporary, Adult Ballet/Barre Intensity, and Improv, and Intro to Dance Technique (for older children wanting to explore the world of dance with little previous experience).

Maranda Blumenthal comes to Soul II Sole Performing Arts with over 10 years of experience in teaching & choreography. Having danced since age 5, Maranda trained at various studios in the Tulsa area as a child and went on to pursue her degree at Belhaven University in Jackson, MS. While there, she had the privilege of studying ballet, modern, performance, choreography, and dance pedagogy under Lauri Worill-Biggs (formerly of Atlanta Ballet & instructor for Ballet Magnificat), Amy Roark-McIntosh (MFA & Director of Dance at Oral Roberts University) & Marc Arentsen (MFA & former Chair of Dance at Belhaven University). After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance, Maranda returned to Tulsa where she was a founding member & choreographer for Tulsa Contemporary Dance Company. From 2008 to present, Maranda has had the great honor of dancing & performing with Amy Roark-McIntosh's modern/contemporary dance company, Living Water Dance Company, as well as collaborating with local dance artist Rachel Bruce-Johnson's company, The Bell House. When it comes to teaching, Maranda's main focuses are on building a strong technique partnered with an understanding of kinesiology, while also exploring the depths of creativity in how the body can move to express feelings or ideas.

Maranda is married to the world's most patient & loving man, recently welcomed a beautiful son into the world, and they have three hilarious dogs whom she lovingly refers to as their "children."
